Sensory integration

What is sensory integration? It is the process by which the human nervous system receives information from the receptors of all senses (vestibular, touch, proprioception, smell, sight, hearing, taste), then organises and interprets it so that it can be used in purposeful activities.

Through sensory integration, children can improve their skills in perceiving, processing and reproducing information. This helps them to better understand the world around them and improves their communication, learning and behaviour.
